Lenovo and IBM are recalling extended batteries shipped with their latest models.
Reason: If dropped they could catch fire or explode. Four injuries have already been reported.
If you haven’t seen a ThinkPad with an extended battery, you’re probably wondering what all the fuss is about. Well, I’ve got one sitting on my lap right now and let me tell you – these 9 cell batteries are huge. They add another 1.5 inches to the length of the laptop. And since the battery is the most concentration of mass in a laptop, it’s probably going to land first during a fall.

Oh, and if you have one of these batteries – act fast or you’ll be stuck on a backorder list for the next few months. Call Lenovo tonight!
